Battery Extender helps extend the standby time of your Nokia smartphone by up to 30%.
A profile is a list of features you wish to change. The application comes configured with some recommended profiles but you can customise them to your needs. From the profile list you can select the profile to activate.
Going away for a long weekend or on a business trip?
Enable Battery Extenders Max Battery profile. This turns on all the power saving features to their highest level to give you the maximum battery performance.
Going walking/running and want to be geo tagging your photos or mapping your route?
Enable Battery Extenders Outdoor Sports profile. This will enable the maximum battery performance, saving energy on unneeded features, while still running the power hungry GPS receiver. The energy savings on unneeded features will keep you battery from being completely drained in a short period of time, due to the high energy consumption of the GPS.
Just want your phone to last longer?
Use the Improved Battery profile, which only starts to change settings when the battery runs low.
Want to be using Google Latitude but not at the expense of a flat battery?
Add Google Maps to the list of applications to close down when you battery level drops below 3 bars. When customizing any of the profiles you will be able to specify which applications are managed and how early on they are switched of through the Application Selector. Do not leave those applications running in the background. Select which ones to close and when.
Should I exit the application once I have selected a profile?
Battery Extender is split into two parts. The first is the configuration application that you use to select and customise a profile. The second is a minimal application that performs the battery optimisation. When you exit Battery Extender the configuration application is closed but the clever part continues to run in the background. So after you have selected or customised a profile you can exit Battery Extender and be safe in the knowledge your battery optimisations will be happening in the background.
